This is just an ordinary blog, about an ordinary woman. I am a wife, mother, daughter and friend.

I’m living life the best I can, overcoming obstacles and savoring the precious moments.

I have a ‘Brady Bunch’ of 5 weird, wacky and wonderful kids (3 full-time, 2 part-time) who drive me bonkers, and I wouldn’t change it for the world. We live in a large town in the Pilbara region of North Western Australia, where it’s summer all year round and it rarely rains.

I recently lost my Mum, and am learning how to live my life without her. But I’ll get through this, I’m stronger than I look.

This is my life… from the inside out.

  1. Hi I just wanted to tell you I like your blog and am now a follower. Your endless summer sounds nice but probably poses problems with the drought. I lived in the high dessert outside of San Diego, California USA and we were always trying to fight drought and had water restrictions. Now I live in Portland Oregon USA. and it off & on 8 months of the year. Winter time, October through February, it rains continuously.
I found your blog when I was reading Diane’s post, “Confession (I’m Not Perfect)”. You left a nice message with the link for the FlyLady’s website. I am writing a post now, referencing you and the FlyLady. There will be a link for your blog. I must say The Granite Flower gives me many mental pictures.
The post on my blog is named “Your House Chaotic?” and will be published shortly.

  2. Hi Cathy,
I’m so glad you like me blog 🙂 It’s a new thing for me, and I’m a bit surprised that people want to read what I have to say!
You’re right about the drought here, so many rivers have dried up over the years 😦 We get a lot of rain during the wet season (technically summer) but all in one go with cyclones…then we flood. It makes life interesting.
I will jump over to your blog now and have a read 🙂

  3. I just wanted to tell you that I love your blog…I think it’s beautiful and touching and thoughtful and all of those great things a blog should be. I’m not sure if you do awards, (and I’m sorry to bother you if you don’t) but I’ve nominated you for the Very Inspiring Blogger Award. You can check it out here:

Thanks for all of your lovely posts,
    ❤ Morgan

    • Wow, thanks Morgan!
I have to say I am blown away by the fact that people are wanting to read what I’m writing, and seem to be enjoying it! I guess I always fall into the trap of selling myself short (after all, I’m JUST a Mum, JUST a worker, JUST ordinary).
Thank you for nominating me, and thank you so much for your touching words 🙂

  4. Hiya Kellie! Thank you so kindly for popping by to see me, and for the follow! Lovely blog – I enjoyed your memory garden post. My own mum is still around, thankfully – I can’t imagine what life would be like without her., and am sorry for your loss. Keep writing, though, especially if it helps you! You will be amazed what you can teach -and learn – from your audience! 😀
